Wāitakere Open Studios

November 22-23

This was such a great weekend at the end of a jam-packed few weeks of markets, group shows, and general end-of-year chaos. It ended up being a bit of a farewell hurrah for the studio, as the following Monday I packed everything up and moved into my new space.

It was truly special to see so many faces, both new and familiar, coming through my little studio and being so enthusiastic about my work. I loved meeting so many new people, showing people around, and talking about my practice. I do regret not taking any photos while people were visiting!

A huge thank you to everyone who came to say hi, stayed for a snack, and took home a piece of art. Your support means the actual world! A special shout out also goes to the Fringe, the local community news publication, for featuring my artwork on the front page to promote the event. It’s such a well-organised event, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area this year.

Next year, the plan is to take part for just one day so I have time to go and see other artists’ studios as well!
