Frequently Asked Questions

  • That's me - Angela! I'm a West Auckland-based artist who taught myself how to build websites over a decade ago and have been maintaining and building sites across multiple platforms ever since. I know what it feels like to stare at a blank screen and not know where to start, which is exactly why I designed this workshop the way I have: relaxed, practical, and jargon-free. I also volunteer at Upstairs Gallery in Titirangi and am passionate about helping artists get their work out into the world.

  • Your laptop, a charger, and a folder of images of your work (aim for at least 5-10 good quality ones). A short bio and any written content you want on your site, like an about blurb, contact details, an artist statement if you have one. It also helps to have some references of websites you like the layout and style of.

  • You'll leave with a solid work-in-progress, the basic structure of your site built and a clear understanding of how to finish it yourself. Think of it as a really productive head start.

  • No experience needed at all, we'll start from scratch together.

  • Squarespace is a subscription service, so eventually yes, but you can continue building on your free trial after the workshop before committing to a plan. The free trial lasts 21 days, once you are ready to launch your site you need to sign up and pay.

  • It's a small group of 6–8 people, so you'll get plenty of support and individual attention.

  • Yes, this workshop is designed with that in mind. We go step by step, nothing is assumed, and the pace is relaxed.

  • No, we'll do that together at the start of the session. You won't need to pay for anything on the day - Squarespace offers a free trial.

Reviews

I had a 1-1 session with Angela to build a shop feature, and it was brilliant. We worked out a sustainable pattern for my shop and collections, I can’t wait to build it. Squarespace can be overwhelming, and you will save yourself SO much time by working with someone who knows exactly what YOU need to know (and what you don’t)!

“Our pottery club used Angela's services for providing us with a new website. She did an amazing job. She is fast and accurate and has an eye for detail. She is determined to get it right and we are very happy with the end result. Upon sharing the website with our members, we had all positive reactions. Thank you Angela.”
