2023 Collection

My work explores colour, space, composition, and a mark making which is spontaneous and immediate. The result is playful, vibrant and dynamic.

Painting is a way for me to express my inner world and find joy through a state of flow - thoughts, feelings, memories, and dreams becoming marks on canvas.

The final body of work this year has grown to a large scale and centered on a conscious and deliberate effort to let go and create marks boldly and courageously, without premeditation. It has pushed me to overcome the intimidation of the size of the work and to surrender to the possibility of failure, forging ahead regardless. 

It should be noted that this series has been created with an accompanying soundtrack. An album from my teenage years, which has inspired the recklessness I felt needed to carry out the unapologetic brushstrokes.
